This section includes notes about cars 613, 614 and 615 within the 600 series. The notes are typed on the back of recycled paper. [Transcription of the typed notes:] Express Trail Car #613 - #356 Express Trail Car #614 - #358 Express Trail Car #615 Texas Traction Company, in 1907, as part of its original equipment order, purchased ten new 600 volt two-man passenger motors from St Louis Car Company, numbered #1 to #10 inclusive. In 1913 these ten cars, #1 to #10 inclusive, with the exception of #6, were renumbered #351 to #359 inclusive (verify), in accordance with the combined numbering scheme of Southern Traction Company and Texas Traction Company (integrated with both companies). In 1917 these nine cars, #351 to #359 inclusive, were transferred to the then formed Texas Electric Railway, where they continued as the same type, bearing the same numbers and were assigned the same tasks as formerly given them by Texas Traction Company. Three cars from this group, #351 to #359 inclusive (exact numbers unknown), were continued in use as 600 volt two-man passenger motors until 1925, at which time they were converted into express trail cars to which were assigned the numbers #613, #614, and #615. ----- These two cars, #613 and #614, were used as express trail cars until the final days of Texas Electric Railway Company in 1948, at which time they were dismantled. ----- This car, #615, was used as an express trail car until 1942, at which time it was involved in a wreck and was thereafter dismantled. |
