Scope & Content |
This section includes notes about cars 1050 through 1053 within the 1050 series. The notes are handwritten on the back of recycled paper. [Transcription of the handwritten notes:] Power Voltage Denison Division 600 volts Denison 600 volts Sherman 600 volts McKinney 600 volts Corsicana Division 1200 volts Corsicana 600 volts Waco Division 1200 volts Waco 600 volts Waxahachie 1200 volts Dallas 600 volts [squiggly line across page] The division breaker for the city of Corsicana was at Drane Sub-Station. The division breaker for the city of Waco was just north of the Bellmead line junction. The division breaker for Dallas for the Corsicana line was just east of the overpass at Monroe Shops. The Dallas Southern Traction line to Waxahachie was built as a 600 volt line and when Southern Traction built the 1200 volt line from Waxahachie to Waco, the division breaker was placed at Bullard. In the fall of 1914 the Dallas-Waxahachie line was changed to 1200 volts with a division breaker on each leg of the Trinity Heights line, that on the east line at Monroe Shops while that on the west line was somewhere on Zangs. This continued until the end of 1924, when Dallas Railway and Terminal took over the Trinity Heights line, at which time the division breaker was moved to a point just south of Worsham. It remained here until the final days of Texas Electric Railway Company in 1948. |
