McAuliff [transcribed] As one of the few members, if not the only member of the Central Electric Railfans Association living in Dallas, may I take this opportunity of thanking you and your associates for making an outing on July 3rd and 4th soon a success. Everyone involved, from yourself to the hostlers at the various terminals, seems to have ? himself to the utmost to see that nothing was lacking to make the occasion one of perfection. While I, personally, had nothing to do with promoting the ? as home town member I felt some responsibility as host and your corporation was most gratifying. Particular thanks are due to the general superintendent Mr. Flo?, to the superintendent Mr. Peters?, to the general passenger agent Mr. McIntosh, and to the operator Mr. Turrentine. The too[sic] those whose work was behind the scenes, such as the dispatch and yourself, deserve many thanks. And finally those with whom ? was made only a ? ? such as the representatives and agents at the various towns and at the Monroe Shops, the operators of the passing cars and the personel[sic] at the terminals deserve more credit for the planning involved in getting our Special over the line with such satisfaction, for the spotting of equipment for photography, etc. The two ? stops, too must not go unnoticed. Both were excellent, but the one on the Southern division deserves ? and ? and I am sure that may ? … Illinois and Ohio? (I hear the praises of fried chicken for quite some time to come. Again let me thank you for a glorious outing and my only wish would be that it were under happier circumstances for the continuation of your line. Tractionally Yours, |
