This section includes notes about Ballast Trail Cars 1000 through 1028 within the 1000 series and gravel pits. The notes are handwritten on the back of recycled paper. [Transcription of the handwritten notes:] I never did see #1000. I think they started with #1001 C.T.D. All built at Monroe except #1028 12 or 14 built about 1922 or 1923 Others were built in 1924 CTD started [c?l] haul from Gross Pit on May 5th 1924 Many of these cars were new at that date. [?] in use on TT Co [Texas Traction Company] about 1910-11-12 but all were rebuilt for T. E. [Texas Electric] gravel hauls. Corsicana & Waco Div. Gross closed In 1928 Oldest cars stored at Monroe Best ones used until Corsicana div closed down Rock quarry existed at "Verdun" See Silvus Letter 4/18/53 Baker Pit 6 or 7 years C.T.D. |
