[Transcription of the typed notes:] Passenger Coach Motor #7 - (1st) #356 Passenger Coach-R.P.O. Combine Motor (1st) #356 Texas Traction Company, in 1907, as part of its original equipment order, purchased ten new 600 volt two-man passenger coach motors from St Louis Car Company, of which #7 was one. In 1913 this car, #7, was renumbered (1st) #356, inaccordance with the combined numbering scheme of Southern Traction Company and Texas Traction Company (integrated with both companies), and was assigned the same tasks as formerly. This car, (1st) #356, was used as a 600 volt two-man passenger coach motor until 1914, at which time it was withdrawn from service, rebuilt with mail handling equipment added, after which it was returned to service, bearing the same number, as a two-man passenger coach-R.P.O. combine motor. In 1917 this car, (1st) #356, was transferred to the then formed Texas Electric Railway, where it continued as the same type, bearing the same number, and was assigned the same tasks as formerly given it by Texas Traction Company. This car, (1st) #356, was used as a 600 volt two-man passenger coach-R.P.O. combine motor until 1925, at which time it was withdrawn from service, rebuilt and renumbered to #613, after which it was returned to service as an express trail car. This car, #613, was used as an express trail car until the final days of Texas Electric Railway Company in 1948, at which time it was withdrawn from service and dismantled. |
