Forms 170-A and 170-A-2 Agents Daily Report, page 1, and Multiple Destination, Book Tickets, Etc., page 2. This form doesn't extend to the back side. This form was used to document daily sale of passenger tickets from Dallas to Waco and/or Denison. It also provided entry space for Auditor's use. Page one (1) of the form is transcribed as follows: TEXAS ELECTRIC RAILWAY AGENTS DAILY REPORT Form 170-A Dallas _________________ Station for _____________ 194__ Below the header, in the top section, were two sections with eight (8) columns, labeled as follows: * Kind (OW-One Way and RT-Round Trip) * To (Stop Points were listed) * Opening No. [opening ticket number] * Closing No. [closing ticket number] * No. Sold [number tickets sold] * Rate [applicable rate from Dallas to stop point] * Amount [total dollar amount sold] * Tax [total dollar amount in taxes collected] The two sections above represented to the left, Waco Int.[erurban] Card Tickets and to the right, Denison Card Tickets. A line was provided below these columns for a Grand Total and for Remarks. To the right, in the middle section, was entry space for Auditor's Use, as related to Distribution. In the left bottom section, the Station Agent summarized totals; amount and tax for Dallas Terminals A and B. They also recorded the deposit from daily sales and the Gov. Req. No. [Government Requirement Number] breakdown for the Total Dallas Terminal. In the right bottom section, the Auditor Summarized Waco and Denison Card Sales as well as Multiple Destination Book Ticket Sales, carried over from page 2 of the form. The Agent signed the report at the bottom, certifying it was correct. Page two (2) of the form is transcribed as follows: MULTIPLE DESTINATION, BOOK TICKETS, ETC. Below the header were nine (9) columns, labeled as follows: * Kind (OW-One Way and RT-Round Trip) * To (Stop Point) * Opening No. [opening ticket number] * Closing No. [closing ticket number] * No. Sold [number tickets sold] * Rate [from Dallas to stop point] * Amount [total dollar amount sold] * Tax [total dollar amount in taxes collected] * Remarks There were fifty-one (51) lines for entries and a last line for Totals. In the lower right corner, were entry spaces for the Dallas terminal, date and year, Agent name or signature. |
