ca 1907-1908 |
Scope & Content |
Postcard with scene on the interurban between Fort Worth and Dallas, Texas. The scene depicts a grassy field in the foreground, with a line of trees mid-scene that frames an Interurban bridge. The caption on the front of the postcard reads: Scene on the Interurban (The Quickest Route) Between Fort Worth and Dallas. The reverse side of the postcard is unused. It falls into the "Divided-Back" period of postcard printing and includes the following: Top Middle: 'Post Card' above horizontal flag-draped flagpole. Top Right: Printed square for a stamp that reads: Place Stamp Here. ----- Domestic One Cent. ----- Foreign Two Cents. Horizontal on upper Left: Reimers Printing Co. Mid-Left: Mail to some absent friend. ________________ Dallas, Texas Southland Hotel ------- Bottom Left: Ride the New Interurban Limited. 63 Trains Daily Between Dallas and Fort Worth. Even at this early date, there were "limited" runs, which were schedules with only limited stops. This had nothing to do with the later (1925) Crimson Limited.
