Chronology compiled by W. P. Donalson, Jr., Johnnie J. Myers and W. T. Jacobs for the purpose of gathering enough material for Johnnie J. Myers to write the book "Texas Electric Railway". These notes were handwritten on the back of recycled paper. [Transcription of the handwritten chronology:] Major Dates 1901 - May 1 - Denison & Sherman Railway begins operation [lined out] 1908 - July 1 - Texas Traction Company begins operations [lined out] 1911 - Aug. 16 - Texas Traction purchased Denison & Sherman and assumes operation [lined out] 1912 - Oct 3 - Southern Traction purchased the Dallas- Waxahachie line which had been built [illegible] Dallas Southern Traction and assumes operation on initial day of operation. [? In left margin] 1912 - DST began operation Sept 1, 1912 [? In left margin] 1913 - Oct 12 - Waxahachie-Waco line of S.T. [Southern Traction] opened. [lined out] 1917 - Jan 1 - Texas Electric Railway formed. [lined out] 1928 - [illegible] changed to oval type beginning this date 1931 - Jan 1 - Receivership of T E Ry (verify date) 1932 - One man operation Begun [lined out] 1934 - Sixty-eight 73 motors (from 17 cars) scrapped [lined out] 1936 - Jan 1 Texas Electric Railway Company formed [lined out] 1939 - Dec 5 - #310 first car changed from oval to squaretop sash. Entire job took about 3 years. 1941 - Feb 4 - Corsicana Division abandoned [lined out] [squiggly line across page] 1925 - Jan 1 - D Ry & T assumes operation of T.?. line.
