CO. _________________________________________________ Introductory In issuing this booklet it is the purpose to give a short historical review of the Texas Traction Company and the Denison & Sherman Railway Company, with some general information relative to the territory traversed by these lines and the cities and towns reached. A few views taken at points along the line are included, and space is devoted to information with reference to the passenger, baggage and express service, etc. _________ The Texas Traction Company owns the electric interurban railway between the cities of Dallas and Sherman, Texas, sixty-six miles long, and the Denison & Sherman Railway Company owns the electric line between Sherman and Denison, Texas, ten and one-half miles in length, also local street car lines in both Deni-son and Sherman. These electric lines transverse Dallas, Collin and Grayson counties, the heart of the great "Black Land Belt" of Texas, the most densely populated and highly productive section of the state, and constitute the longest interurban railway in the Southwest. Both roads are under the management of the J. F. Strickland Company of Dallas, Texas. The purpose of this company is to give and furnish more efficient management to individual properties than would be practical under separate management. The members of this company having had years of experience in handling the affairs of public service corporations, insures courteous, efficient and economical service. Its officers are --- J. F. Strickland, Chairman; Osce Goodwin Vice- chairman; M. B. Templeton, General Counsel; R. B. Stichter, General Manager; J. D. Caldwell, Secretary. This company now has under its management quite a number of public utility properties other than those mentioned in this folder.
