This section includes notes about car 621 within the 600 series. The notes are typed on the back of recycled paper. [Transcription of the typed notes:] Express Trail Car #621 Southern Traction Company, in 1913, as part of its original equipment order, purchased six new 1200 volt express motors from American Car Company, of which #500 was one. In 1917, this car, #500, was transferred to the then formed Texas Electric Railway, where it continued as the same type, bearing the same number and was assigned the same tasks as formerly given it by Southern Traction Company. Electrical controls were removed from #500 in 1938 for use on freight motor #906 (or possibly #802), at which time the body was converted into an express trail car to which was assigned the number #621. This car, #621, was used an an express trail car until the final days of the Texas Electric Railway in 1948, at which time it was dismantled. |
