Date |
ca 1949-1963 |
Scope & Content |
This section includes notes from various men employed by Denison & Sherman Railway. [Transcription of the handwritten notes:] These (Denison-Sherman suburban cars) were superceded by 188-189-190-191. 190 was built at Monroe in 1924. 191 was originally 119 (Per se. Possibly 116?) and I believe 188 and 189 were remodled [sic] from Waco City cars probably 117-118. (I promised you about three years ago that I would prove that one of these cars were No 187, but so far I have failed, but haven’t changed my mind. - (C.T.D)) W. Silvus March 1953 While (at the beginning of World War I) the Trinity Hts. cars 75-76-77-78 were brought to Waco to use on Army Camp St. car lines. C.T.D 1/26/54 The controller (of the small D.S.T.Co cars) was located in the center or middle of the vestibule and weres not changed to right side until they were lengthened, which was about 2 months after 75-76-77-78 were returned to Trinity Hts. line. Were the four cars #75- #76- #77- #78 returned to the Trinity Hts. line after World War I was over Yes. They replaced 322-323-324. C.T.D 2-4-54 Were the small interurban cars used in Waco during World War I, numbered #21- #22- #23 Can’t say about the numbers. Seems that one was 187. No one else will agree with me. According to Lawson and Silvus, also Mr Oliver, these (188-189-190-191) and 21-22-23) are the same cars.
