This section includes notes about car 621 within the 600 series. The notes are handwritten on the back of recycled paper. [Transcription of the handwritten notes:] Express Trail Car #621 How many of the 500 series baggage motors were built now? How many converted from passenger cars? * ~~~S.T. cars were 500 - 501 - 502 - 503 - 504 - 505 ~~~ 500 was built into trailer 621. C.T. Dickerson (Undated) 1948 621 was created from Express Motor 500 a few years after Corsicana Div. folded up. C.T. Dickerson 1/28/53 Interurban cars 500-505 bought 1913 W. Silvus 3/1/53 You ask about Express car 500, thinking that the electric equipment was used to build 906, No - 311 was used to build 906, the equipment from 500 was never used, they had enough equipment to build two more freight motors, and was planning on this when things happen to go wrong C.T. Dickerson 4/26/53 I do know that 500 was made into trailer 621. You can bet you life on this - and was never connected with 509 in any way, shape, form or fashion. C.T. Dickerson 3/4/54 Express trailer 601 was converted to an express motor in 1915 using the elec. eqpt. and air brakes from 500 which was damaged by fire. The damaged body was rebuilt, converted to express trailer and numbered 621. W. Silvus 1/23/55 |
