Possibly a scanned advertisement from a book or newspaper or a time card with information on the Dallas-Fort Worth Interurban schedules and the Imperial Hotel, prior to 1914. "Dallas-Fort Worth Interurban Northern Texas Traction Company H. T. Bostick, A. G. P. A., Ft. Worth. --- The interurban line runs 63 cars daily, between Dallas and Fort Worth. Limited Cars leave Dallas every hour from 7:30 a. m. to 6:39 p. m., inclusive, making the run in one hour's time without stovping[sic] between the two cities. Local Cars leave Dallas every hour from 6:00 a. m. until 12:00 o'clock midnight, inclusive, making the run in one hour and thirty minutes, stopping at Oak Cliff, Grand Prairie, Arlington, Handley and intermediate points. All cars start from the Interurban Station, corner of St. Paul and Commerce streets in Dallas, passing the G. C. & S. F., Rock Island and the Cotton Belt depots, and start from the Court House in Fort Worth, passing the T. & P. Union Depot. Five baggage cars are operated each way daily in the following schedule: Leave Dallas 8:20 a. m., 11:00 a. m., 2:20 p. m., 5:00 p. m., 9:20 p. m. Arrive Dallas 10:30 a. m., 12:40 p. m., 3:30 p. m., 7:05 p. m., 7: 05 a. m." The chart beneath mentions stations for: Dallas, Oak Cliff, Boundary, Merryfield, Hillside, Ravinia, Westm'eland [Westmoreland], Britton, Cockrell's Hill, Sub. Sta. 1, Bond's, Blue Cut, Mt. Creek Sp??, Idlewild, Fowlers, Fereis, Fishburn, Grand Prairie, Dall Worth Siding 18, Midway, Lookout Pt., Arlington, Stop 14. Summit, Elliot, Fruitvale, Siding 11, Cloverdale, Village Creek, Oak Ridge, E Handley, Handley, Lloyd, W. Handley, Pt. Breeze, Siding 6, Haines, Sagamore Hill, Siding 4, Tandy's Lake, College Hill, Sycamore Heights, Sycamore Creek, Sub. Sta. 2, Glenwood, Ft. Worth (Courthouse). Beneath the chart there is a small photo of the Imperial Hotel in Dallas, on Main and Akard Sts. "Outside Room $1.00; with bath, $1.50." The Imperial Hotel, a 6-story brick building, owned by B. J. Tillar & Bros., was destroyed by a fire on November 3, 1914. Loss: $40,000. Source: Western Contractor, Vol. 26, No. 724. On the back of the paper, at the top left, there in handwriting in pencil that is cut off: "[...de/ole?] of Dallas" H. T. Bostick was the General Passenger Agent for the Northern Texas Traction Company in Fort Worth. Advertisements on newspapers.com from the NTTC that include his name range from the years 1912 to 1919. |
