This section includes notes about car 1 / 350 / 355 within the 350-399 series. The notes are typed on the back of recycled paper. [Transcription of the typed notes:] Passenger Coach Motor #1 - (1st) #350 - (2nd) #355 and Passenger Coach - R.P.O. Combine Motor (2nd) #350 Texas Traction Company, in 1907, as part of its original equipment order, purchased ten new 600 volt two-man passenger coach motors from St. Louis Car Company, of which #1 was one. In 1913 this car, #1, was renumbered (1st) #350 in accordance with the combined numbering scheme of Southern Traction Company and Texas Traction Company (integrated with both companies), and was assigned the same tasks as formerly. This car, (1st) #350, was used as a 600 volt two-man passenger coach motor by Texas Traction Company until, at some unknown date, shortly after 1913, it was renumbered (2nd) #355, and was continued as a 600 volt two-man passenger coach motor. In 1917 this car, (2nd) #355, was transferred to the then formed Texas Electric Railway, where it continued as the same type, bearing the same number, and was assigned the same tasks as formerly given it by the Texas Traction Company. Whether this car, (2nd) #355, was ever converted to a 600 volt one-man passenger coach is not known. This car, (2nd) #355, was used as a 600 volt passenger coach motor by Texas Electric Railway until, at some unknown date, approximately 1934, it was removed from service, rebuilt with mail handling equipment added, renumbered to (2nd) #350, and was returned to service as a 600 volt one-man passenger coach - R.P.O. combine motor. This car, (2nd) #350, was used as a 600 volt one-man passenger coach-R.P.O. combine motor until the final days of Texas Electric Railway Company in 1948, at which time it was withdrawn from service and dismantled. |
