This section includes notes about car 407 / (3rd)355 within the 400 series. The notes are typed on the back of recycled paper. [Transcription of the typed notes:] Passenger Coach Trail Car #407 Southern Traction Company, in 1913, as part of its original equipment order, purchased ten new passenger coach Trail cars from American Car Company, of which #407 was one. In 1917 this car, #407, was transferred to the then formed Texas Electric Railway, where it continued as the same type, bearing the same number, and was assigned the same tasks as formerly given it by Southern Traction Company. This car, #407, was used as a passenger coach trail car by Texas Electric Railway until 1924, at which time it was withdrawn from service, rebuilt, renumbered (3rd)#355, and was returned to service as a 600 volt two-man passenger coach motor. The final disposition of this car is unknown. |
