Original lithograph of Texas Electric Railway Car 319 on mount board. The description under the drawing of the car reads: Texas Electric Railway Built 1913 by St. Louis Car Company on Brill 27MCB3x Trucks. Fleet No. 319. The Texas Electric system comprised three lines, one running from Dallas north to Denison, the others south. 319 was supplied originally to a predecessor, SOUTHERN TRACTION COMPANY, 54 ft. long, it was powered by four GE225 100 h.p. motors with WH C100D controllers. In 1927 Texas Electric established a limited stop service and called the limiteds 'Bluebonnets', after the Texas State flower. At this time 319 was painted blue. In 1934 the car was converted to one-man operation as shewn [sic]. With acknowledgements to Barney Neuburger and John Myers for their assistance in the preparation of this study.
