Texas Electric Railway End-of-Service Commemorative Envelope with RPO and RMS Stamps. The envelope has an image of the State of Texas on the left side. It depicts all 76 1/2 miles of the Texas Electric Railway Co. lines, with the Denison to Dallas line highlighted with red. The face of the envelope has various R.P.O backstamps; three of them are paired with an oval RMS stamp. The date of the stamps indicate the last day of service for the Texas Electric Railway. The circular stamps read: Denison & Dallas R. P. O. TR. 18, DEC 31, 1948 Denison & Dallas R. P. O. TR. 21, DEC 31 1948 Denison & Dallas R. P. O. TR. 9, DEC 31 1948 Denison & Dallas R. P. O. TR. 10, DEC 31 1948 Domestic postage: Three cents. An additional purple ink stamp on the back of the envelope reads: DEN&DAL TR 21 H.L.RAY 12 31 48 |
