Embossed reproduction postcard, image 1422, scene on the interurban, Fort Worth, Texas. The scene depicts trees surrounding a lake. In the midground, an Interurban railcar travels across a raised section of track, its reflection visible in the water below. The actual site was at Lake Erie, looking northwest. The car is westbound. Below the scene, the caption reads: 1422. Scene on Interurban, Fort Worth, Texas. Note: This postcard scene is identical to a postcard with the caption "Image 1411: Scene on Interurban, Dallas, Texas" [see catalog number CP.2009.GC.12-3]. It is similar to a later postcard that is described as "Along the Interurban Line between Fort Worth and Dallas, Texas. [see catalog number CP.2022.GC.4-4. The coloring on this postcard is brighter with with red tones. This postcard has a handwritten address on the reverse side. It falls into the "Undivided-Back" period of postcard printing and includes the following: Top Middle: 'Post Card' with horizontal flag-draped flagpole. Top Right: Series of 1902, also known as the Second Bureau Issue, '1907 Benjamin Franklin 1 cent 1706-1790 Stamp'. It's postmarked Fort Worth, Tex., Jan 10, 1908, 3:30 PM. Mid Left: "This Space Can Be Used for a Written Message." Mid-back address reads: Miss Edna Skinnell Wertz Virginia Mid bottom edge: handwritten in purple ink: "Franklin Co".
