TER Return to Questionnaire for Docket 16092 [pg 6] |
Date |
ca 1948, April 26 |
Scope & Content |
Texas Electric Railway Return to Questionnaire (unsigned) to the Interstate Commerce Commision to abandon rail operations in total. This 32-page document was eventually signed, notarized and submitted to the Interstate Commerce Commission. [page 6 transcribed] Applicant furnishes herewith a statement showing the income account since January 1, 1936, of the line sought to be abandoned, duly dividing same as between its Dallas-Waco and Dallas-Denison divisions, as the income accounts for the years 1943, 1944, 1945 and 1946 furnished above contain earnings, operating expenses, taxes, etc., for the city lines at Waco, Sherman and Denison, Texas, which were sold by Applicant on August 8, 1946. Applicant believes that this information will be helpful to the Commission in reaching correct conclusions in the matter, as same would show to what extent the revenues of Applicant might decline should operations be continued, and presents the past costs of operation to which level it could hardly be expected that future operating costs could be reduced.
