TER Passenger's Receipt [Dallas to Denison] |
Date |
ca 1929-1948 |
Scope & Content |
Texas Electric Railway Company Passenger's Receipt, from Dallas to Denison. Holes are punched for Dallas, Kirkland, and over the ".40" to the left of Plano. It's possible the fare price was mis-punched since the fare from Dallas to Kirkland is 20 cents. It appears no tax was assessed for a round trip. The ticket says: "PASSENGER'S RECEIPT. To be retained as evidence of fare paid. Good only for one continuous trip between stations punched. NOT REDEEMABLE. Punch marks indicate the stations between which fare has been paid and the amount thereof. If more than two stations are punched this receipt is void. Passengers are requested to purchase tickets before boarding cars. Your Local Agent will appreciate it as it will improve his standing. The operator will appreciate it as it lessens his labors." The ticket is signed by H. G. Floyd, General Superintendent, and H. C. McIntosh, General Passenger Agent. Form 70. Ticket number 250359. |
