This section includes notes about car 500 / 621 within the 500 series. The notes are typed on the back of recycled paper. [Transcription of the typed notes:] Express Motor #501 Express Motor #502 Express Motor #503 Express Motor #504 Express Motor #505 Southern Traction Company, in 1913, as part of its original equipment order, purchased six new 1200 volt express motors from American Car Company, of which #501, #502, #503, #504 and #505 were five. In 1917, these five cars, #501, #502, #503, #504 and #505, were transferred to the then formed Texas Electric Railway, where they continued as the same type, bearing the same numbers, and were assigned the same tasks as formerly given them by Southern Traction Company. These five cars, #501, #502, #503, #504 and #505, were used as 1200 volt express motors until the final days of Texas Electric Railway Company in 1948, at which time they were dismantled. |
