This section includes notes about car 600 / 506 within the 600 series. The notes are typed on the back of recycled paper. [Transcription of the typed notes:] Express Trail Car #600 Southern Traction Company, in 1913, as part of its original equipment order, purchased two new express trail cars from American Car Company, of which #600 was one. In 1917 this car #600, was transferred to the then formed Texas Electric Railway, where it continued as the same type, bearing the same number and was assigned the same general tasks as formerly given it by Southern Traction Company. This car, #600, was used as an express trail car until 1934, at which time 1200 volt electrical controls were installed and it was converted into an express motor to which was assigned the number (2nd)#506. This car, (2nd)#506, was used as a 1200 volt express motor until the final days of Texas Electric Railway Company in 1948, at which time it was dismantled. |
