This section includes notes about car 2 / 351 within the 350-399 series. The notes are typed on the back of recycled paper. [Transcription of the typed notes:] Passenger Coach Motor #2 - #351 and Passenger Coach-R.P.O. Combine Motor #351 Texas Traction Company, in 1907, as part of original equipment order, purchased ten new 600 volt two-man passenger coach motors from St Louis Company, of which #2 was one. In 1913 this car, #2, was renumbered #351, in accordance with the combined numbering scheme of Southern Traction Company and Texas Traction Company, (integrated with both companies), and was assigned the same tasks as formerly. This car, #351, was used as a 600 volt two-man passenger coach motor by Texas Traction Company until 1914, at which time it was rebuilt with mail handling equipment added, after which it was returned to service as a two-man passenger coach-R.P.O. combine motor, bearing the same number. In 1917 this car, #351, was transferred to the then formed Texas Electric Railway, where it continued as the same type, bearing the same number, and was assigned the same tasks as formerly given it by the Texas Traction Company. This car, #351, was used as a 600 volt two-man passenger coach-R.P.O. combine motor until, at some unknown date, approximately 1934, it was removed from service, mail handling equipment removed, and the car was placed in storage. In 1942 this car, #351, was removed from storage, the interior was rebuilt, omitting all mail handling equipment, and the car was returned to service as a 600 volt one-man passenger coach motor. This car, #351, was used as a 600 volt one-man passenger coach motor until the final days of Texas Electric Railway Company in 1948, at which time it was withdrawn from service and dismantled. |
