Scope & Content |
'Strictly Sandhouse - SP Lines - SSW Route, No. I' Employee Newsletter kept by Rex Hardison. The newletter contains a short biography on Mr. Hardison on the back of the 4th page. It is transcribed as follows: "For instance, we went to Plano and met Agent H. R. "Rex" Hardison for hte first time ater a years-long friendship via "Ma Bell" but had never come face to face before. Rex (pictured below) told me he had worked for the SP-SSW for 31 years after spending 2 1/2 years with BRI-RI-FWD-IGN. He's been at Plano since 1946. In case anyon'[es listening, the station at Plano sure could use a little paint and some new window shades." Mr. Hardison's office in Plano was most likely in the joint Cotton Belt / Southern Pacific station just north of the Cotton Belt crossing south of downtown Plano. The building no longer exists. |
