Scope & Content |
This section includes notes about cars 300 / 364 and 301 / 365 within the 350-399 series. The notes are typed on the back of recycled paper. [Transcription of the typed notes:] Passenger Coach Motor #364 Passenger Coach Motor #365 Southern Traction Company, in 1913, as part of its original equipment order, purchased twelve new 1200 volt "Local Type" two-man passenger coach motors from St Louis Car Company, of which #300 and #301 were two. In 1917 these two cars, 300 and #301, were transferred to the then formed Texas Electric Railway, where they continued as the same type, bearing the same numbers and were assigned the same tasks as formerly given them by Southern Traction Company. Whether these two cars were ever converted into 1200 volt one-man passenger coach motors is not known. These two cars, #300 and #301, were used as 1200 volt passenger coach motors by Texas Electric Railway until, at some unknown date, approximately 1934, they were converted to 600 volt one-man passenger coach motors and were renumbered #364 and #365 respectively. These two cars, #364 and #365, were used as 600 volt one-man passenger coach motors until the final days of Texas Electric Railway Company in 1948, at which time they were dismantled. |
