Deteriorated Exterior of Plano Depot - West Elevation - ca 1983
After 73 years, the west exterior facing of the Plano station indicated the building was ready for demolition. However, it avoided that fate through the efforts of a group of advocates, led by Johnnie J. Myers, to save the distinctive, historical building. Plano Station Under Renovation - ca 1987-Nov 1988
SNAPSHOT: Old Plano Station on 15th Street as the Interurban Railway Museum was being constructed around the original building. During the renovation period (1987-Nov 1988), the City of Plano was working on the park that surrounds the museum as well as renovating Plano Station, which had been used for a lawn mower business.
