Dallas Interurban Station - 1916 - 1916
Texas Electric Railway Dallas Interurban Station, 1916. The station, built in 1916, served as Dallas' first electric train station. It was converted to a bus station in the 1960s by the Continental Bus Co. and closed in 1987 after Greyhound bought out Continental Trailways. A new Dallas Interurban Terminal building opened for service September 1, 1916. It was one of the most impressive terminals of the interurban era - - and could be favorably compared with those of Indianapolis, Los Angeles, Akron, and Salt Lake City.
