Description |
Texas Electric Railway Company Class "A" Locomotive 801 in the Monroe Shops Yard, by the Carbarn. Built in 1928, in the Company shops, and designated 'Class A', this and its sisters 800 and 802 were 600/1200 VDC machines rated at 400 ton hauling capacity. In 1949, after abandonment, this freight motor went to Charles City Western Railway in Iowa, where it was numbered 303. In 1963, it became Iowa Traction Railway Work Motor 53.
