Car had Christensen Air Brake Systems and McGuire Trucks when built. It received compressor driven brake systems and Brill 27E trucks at an early unknown date. It was assigned to Fort Worth-Cleburne service in 1912. This assignment lasted until abandonment of that line in 1931. It was rebuilt in 1926 to "Pioneer Locals" and renumbered. The Pioneer Local was rebuilt with arch roofs and painted maroon and cream enhanced with gold lettering and striping. They were equipped for one-man operation and the rear of the car was equipped as a parlor section. The rear of the car was finished off with a small awning. They were named after five Texas heroes. One car was named Sam Houston. The others were likely Stephen F. Austin, William B. Travis, David Crockett and James Bowie. Reference: "Texas Electric Railway", by Johnnie J.
