This section includes notes from various men employed by Denison & Sherman Railway. [Transcription of the handwritten notes:] [Note: pages x 3 thru x 7 were not accessioned as they duplicate notes on CP.2006.CL.1-117 O through CP.2006.CL.1-117 S] [page] x 8 [Comments by CTD, March 1953, at the top of this page, are not transcribed as they duplicate comments in CP.2006.CL.1-117 S] The first cars that ran between Sherman and Denison were numbered 23, 24 and 25. 24 was demolished in a car wreck at Woodlake when Rutledge was killed. The other two cars numbers were not changed. 23 is out in the country being used as a chicken brooder. These are the old D&S cars built in 1901. T. M. Lawson Dec 31, 1953 I told you that I would proved that one of the old D & S cars were numbered 187, this I am still working on. C. T. Dickenson Jan. 4, 1954 What was the origin of cars 188-189-190-191? (This was before my time.) Were the small interurban cars used in Waco during World War I, numbered #21, #22, #23? (Cant say about the numbers. Seems that one was 187. No one else will agree with me) (According to Lawson and Silvus, also Mr. Oliver, these (two questions above) are the same cars. C. T. Dickenson March 4, 1954. --- I told you about Rutlege [sic] being killed along about 1912 or 13, but no one has ever been able to tell me the car No. Perhaps this is the wreck that Mr. Silvus told of one of the cars was a total loss.
